Online Nursing Programs

UAB offers more nursing programs than most schools. Some schools do not even offer a doctorate in nursing, but UAB does. They also offer nearly 200 online nursing courses, something that many schools still do not do. In this regard, we recommend checking out UAB for their traditional and online nursing programs. Certainly online nursing has its advantages as far as convenience is concerned, which is especially important to busy, working nurses. This means that you can complete any of the almost 200 online nursing courses according to your own schedule – day or night. However, keep in mind this does not mean your own pace with regards deadlines. You are responsible to turn in your work as instructed in the course syllabus.

NUR 733: Informatics for Advanced Nursing Practice
This program focuses on the collection, organization, analysis, and distribution of knowledge in nursing and healthcare. Students are introduced to the niche of nursing informatics, the info system existence-cycle, telemedicine, and the utilization of technology to improve nursing care delivery and patient safety. Also, students learn to design, use, and manipulate small and big patient databases for that analysis of patient final results.
Nursing Prerequisites:
- Students working towards a DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) must be admitted into that program.
- Completed a descriptive statistics course within the last 6 years or attained a passing score on the statistics challenge examination.
